Guatemalan Independence Day

This past weekend we celebrated Guatemalan Independence with the Triangle Guatemalan Adoptive Families group. Ben has talked non-stop about it. I think his favorite part was the pinata - what little boy doesn't like to hit things with sticks?

Little Dish-washer

Autumn Moon Festival

Last Sunday we celebrated the Autumn Moon Festival with friends in the local Families with Children From China group.

Ben is in a big boy bed!

I am continually amazed at how well Ben handles transitions. He took to the big boy bed without a second thought!

Bye-bye Baby Curls

Owen got his first real haircut this morning with the "buzzers". The curls were so cute but as he likes to mash food into his hair, less is better... I'm kind of sad, but on the other hand, he really looks handsome.

Science Co-op

We are doing a Science Co-op with friends of ours - we moms rotate teaching the younger kids (doing a hands-on, unit approach to science - they call themselves the LAB RATS!) and the jr. high girls (using Apologia General Science). Here are some pics from the Lab Rat class.

It's Official!

I think we can finally claim sucess with potty training! We haven't had a real accident in more than a week and he is even dry after nap time somedays. Whew! That is one of my least favorite parenting activities...
