Please Keep Skyler in Your Prayers

UPDATE!!! Skyler is out of surgery and doing well! Praise God!!! Please keep her in your prayers as she recovers this week...

My sweet 4 yr old niece Skyler is having a big heart surgery (Fontan completion) tomorrow (August 17) and we all would appreciate any prayers you might offer for this precious one. Here is my favorite picture of her in her cute little cowboy boots. She is one special girl!

Hi Anne,
I will be praying for Skyler. Is this the same procedure that Karin's Kate underwent? She did so well...out in two weeks. How long will you neice be hospitalized? Good to "talk" with you:)

I didn't know you knew Karin P.! Small world:-) We met her in South Bend when we were waiting for Lily - she only had 3 kids back then :-) Basically the same surgery but I think Kate had some other complicating factors - I remember Karin saying she was having the "old style" done. I hope she is out sooner than 2 weeks but I really don't think they know at this point. Thanks for praying - I know you understand what they are going thu having done the BIG surgery thing with your little sweetie...

Hi Anne,
I really don't know Karin except that we are bloggy friends. I started following her blog at your request for prayer for little Kate. Praying for her situation was so theraputic! It took my mind off my troubles and focused me on helping someone else. YOur request on her behalf was a complete blessing to me. And through the whole experience, I have met so many amazing adoptive families. It has really been just what the Dr. ordered. So thank you! And thanks for visiting my blog. It was so fun to see your comment. How is you niece doing? Back to normal life? I trust so.

Of course, Lisa - that makes sense :-) Small world with the internet though - such a neat thing to be connected to people all over the world, even!

Skyler is doing great - she was only in the hospital for a week! Amazing kid!!!
